Erasmus+ Staff Mobility — what it funds for teachers
Erasmus+ is the European Union’s flagship programme for education, training, youth, and sport. Under Staff Mobility (KA-122 short-term projects and KA-121 accredited annual mobility), individual teachers and school staff can attend funded professional development courses abroad.

How does Staff Mobility work for teachers?
Your school applies for Erasmus+ accreditation (KA-121, ongoing annual budget) or a short-term project (KA-122, single application, no prior accreditation) through your country’s National Agency. Once approved, individual teachers can use the funding to attend professional development courses abroad — including any EUTA course.
If your school isn’t yet accredited, you can still propose the idea. Many teachers are the ones who initiate the process — we can provide course information and supporting documents to help you make the case to your school management. What Staff Mobility funding covers
Erasmus+ KA-122 and KA-121 grants are calculated from a few unit-cost categories. Exact amounts are set by your country’s National Agency — see erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu for the current programme guide.
Course Fees
EUTA’s course fees are within Erasmus+ unit-cost guidelines and eligible for the grant.
Travel
Return flights or transport to Benalmádena, calculated by distance band from your home country. Organised by certified and insured tour operator.
Accommodation
Hotel option at Flatotel International, walking distance from EUTA — covered through the individual support category of the grant.
Preparation
Language preparation, visa costs, and insurance — additional support for participants who need it.

Frequently Asked Questions about Erasmus+ for Teachers
Am I eligible for Erasmus+ Staff Mobility funding?
If you work at a school or educational organisation in an EU member state or Erasmus+ programme country, you are likely eligible. Your school needs to hold Erasmus+ accreditation (KA-121) or apply for a short-term mobility project (KA-122). What if my school doesn’t have Erasmus+ accreditation?
Your school can apply for Erasmus+ accreditation through your country’s National Agency for ongoing access to mobility funding under KA-121. Alternatively, the school can apply for a short-term KA-122 project without prior accreditation. How is the grant amount calculated?
Erasmus+ KA-122 and KA-121 grants are calculated from a few unit-cost categories: course fees, travel (by distance band), individual support (covering accommodation and daily allowances), and preparation. Exact amounts are set by your country’s National Agency, vary by destination country, and depend on activity duration. Find your National Agency on the official directory.
When are the application deadlines?
Application rounds typically open in autumn with deadlines in February–March for the following academic year. Accredited organisations submit budget requests annually. We recommend planning 6–12 months ahead. Contact us anytime — we’re happy to help you prepare well in advance.
Can I choose which EUTA course to attend?
Yes — all EUTA teacher training courses are eligible for Erasmus+ Staff Mobility funding (KA-122 and KA-121). Choose the course that best fits your professional development goals and your school’s European Development Plan. What documentation does EUTA provide?
We provide everything you need: detailed course descriptions, Learning Agreements, daily programme schedules, official invitation letters, proforma invoices, and post-course certificates including Europass Mobility documents. These documents support both your grant application and your final report to the National Agency.
I have a different funding type — can EUTA still help?
Yes. Beyond Erasmus+ Staff Mobility (KA-122 and KA-121), we adapt our courses for other Erasmus+ project types — Cooperation Partnerships (KA-220), school accreditation consortia, regional or national programmes, and others. Tell us about your project and we’ll work out the fit. Get in touch.
Can I attend without Erasmus+ funding?
